Summary: Sacred 2
Comment: Sorry but I am very far from well and it will be possibly months before I open the package. The reason I can only give it one star - hope that when I am able install and play the game it will rate much higher.

Summary: Installation issues
Comment: I can't give this game a high rating because the game that amazon shipped me says "contact vendor {paraphrase: some problem with installation window}"

I wish I had spent my money on something that was not such a hassle. I have recently had my NWN2 code stop working too. I probably won't ever buy a video game again and will keep this computer running until it no longer operates internet at which time I will buy a mac.

I'm tired of all this computer BS.

I recommend you buy 2 bottles of Chivas Regal Scotch. Much more fun!

Customer Rating: Average rating of 4/5Average rating of 4/5Average rating of 4/5Average rating of 4/5Average rating of 4/5
Summary: So far so GOOD but not without a few small disapointing elements.....
Comment: I am only about (20+ hours) into this game, but so far it seems enjoyable
and yet there are a few things that put a bit of a damper on this game.

First of all , I'd like to make 2 things clear before i comment on any of
the(negative or positve) aspects of this title thus far:

1. I enjoyed the first title (Sacred),I own the 'Gold Edition'which includes the 'Underworld' Expansion; great purchase by the way.

2. Even before (S2's) release ,i did not have *GIGANTIC* expectations of
the game as long as it follwed the formula of the first title without a
complete 'Overhaul for the Worse'(which is very common in most game franchises),then that was just fine by me.

Now on to the plus and minus's:

Plus-
Huge Game : you can spend hours just wandering around without even taking
on any quests whatsoever. The graphics are lush , colorfull and very nicely done, considering you have the hardware to run it.

Tons of Quests: within the 1st hour of gameplay i recieved about 10+ quests so there is plenty to keep you busy.

New Characters: As in the 1st game, there is a nice choice characters. It's nice to see that the developers didn't rehash the same ones in it's
last title and throw a high gloss spitshine on them and call it a new
game.

Loads of Customization:
A great addition that made the original Sacred so much fun.

Now the minus's:
(And remember...this is only my opinion)

Huge Game: Is it me or has anyone else had a problem with the (Over World)
Map? Have you found yourself directly on the little circle(Quest Location)
and when you return to the game the person your'e suppose to talk with to
complete the quest is about a half a football field away from the spot
marked on your map? Ok , the 1/2 a football field comparison was an
exaggeration, but I'm sure if you're playing the game you'll get what i mean.

Tons of Quests: Great, but alot of them are a little on the *SILLY* side.
Fetching herbs and patching up a relationship between 2 NPC's in an Action
RPG is kind of a lazy way for extending gameplay and living up to the hype
presented on the back of the game box. Like i mentioned earlier , I have
only played the first 20+ Hours and i hope the sidequests get better.
If i have to rescue an old lady's cat from out of a tree, that will it for
me brother.
Some have mentioned quite a few problems with *Bugs* but I downloaded and
stored all the latest patches from the developers official website before
installation and found only (1 minor-bug), once in a while my character
will turn around and walk backwards when I am commanding it to walk forward, this can be a bit annoying when overwhelmed by enemies, but it's
a Hack-n-Slash so swinging my weapon blindly usually solves that issue which i haven't seen come up too often....so far that is.
On other technical issues: I build my own PC's and haven't played a game on a store shelf computer since the late 90's and have alway's met or exceeded most *Recommended* specs in(most) of today's games so i can't
really comment on that aspect.
All in all though , (Sacred 2)is a fun (yet somewhat overwhelmingly large)
title and I'd Score it an (A-) so far even with it's minor glitches.
Highly Recommended for fans of the genre and a great time-killer to relax
the nerves of those of you(myself included) who are patiently awaiting the
release of 'Diablo 3'. As far as the (Online) activation is concerned:
well i think of this method with one thought:"Irrelevant".
No,i don't like and will never agree with this method since it first started, but it's become *Standard* and to some degree i will just deal with it. Due to the fact that i am *NOT* an online player and my gaming pc
stays offline (with the exception of periodically updating XP O.S.- all
other upgrades/updates i.e drivers ect. are burned to a disk from another
pc) a One time online activation only bothers me in a little, but it still
puzzles me to why i have to go online to *UNLOCK* the Single-Player portion of a game that has the activation code stamped on the back of the
games manual.....Huhh???
SACRED FANS REJOICE !!! It's good to see we have not been forgotten, just don't try to connect the story too tightly, you'll make yourself dizzy from the amount of content in this one.

Summary: Blizzard has a run for its money with this one vs Diablo 3.
Comment: In the wake of Diablo 3's announcement comes Sacred 2. Developed in Europe and released on 11/11/08 it didn't even make it into retail stores until December. Yet here on Amazon it was available right away! It has similar play style to that of Diablo 2. You play the part of 1 of six different characters. You have the ability to choose good or evil, and depending on what god your character worships you gain special abilities. Sacred 2 definitely will rival Diablo 3 when it eventually comes out. In the meantime, Ascaron did an amazing job fixing problems that were evident in the first Sacred title.

Summary: All that I was hoping for and more.
Comment: Only drawback is the hardware requirements exceed my video card. Graphics are great though choppy on my system. Action control is very good when the lag isn't too bad. Resource hog but great game.

Editorial Reviews:

T Energy has been flowing through Ancaria since time itself. This mysterious power forms the beginning of all life, is the source of all magic and the origin of all thought. For an era, it was the angelic Seraphim who watched over the T Energy and therefore over the fate of the entire world. They passed their knowledge on to the High Elves, so that they could benefit from T Energy. But the High Elves let the power over T Energy tear their society apart, and war and strife broke out. Worse than that, the T Energy itself went out of control, turning negative and creating destructive evil in the land. The nobility as well as the clerical caste of the High Elves struggled to seize power over the high-elvish imperium, so that they alone might hold the T Power in their rule. The land once more faced with war; a war that was much larger with more far reaching consequences than all previous wars and battles. Two thousand years before Shaddar, the cry for heroes arises to avert this war and to regain control over the T Energy. Will those heroes prevent the world from lapsing into final chaos, or will they instead deepen it with their actions?
