Customer Rating: Summary: Okay Comment: Not as silly as Limp Bizkit, not as hard-core as Dope, not as accessible as Linkin Park, but rather somewhat like all three of these groups with more "rap" tossed in. I bought it at a store advertising it as "metal" (right next to Slipknot and Guns n' Roses) but it is not. In fact, they are much more hip-hop oriented, though not particularly talented or original as far as the lyrics go. Not a bad album, with a couple of solid singles, but will appeal to younger and less experienced listeners. Be advised--"Parental Advisory" is for language, which is absolutley necessary.
Customer Rating: Summary: nothing new but it still works Comment: very simple. Fort minor meets the Bloodhound Gang with 1999 Slim Shady type lyrics and rhyme subjects. Its grows on you and shows promise if they would get a little more serious in subject. "play a b*tch like nintendo" ahhhhhhh heard it all before but nice production and "this love this hate" is a must hear!!
Customer Rating: Summary: We are all derivitives of something else Comment: This album pumps me up. Some songs remind me of Eminem, some remind me of The Transplants, some remind me of POD, I even hear a little Dre - I don't so much hear the Linkin Park comparison, but maybe that's because Linkin Park is a bunch of clowns. Anyway, check out this CD if you're into rap/rock - even the non single tracks are pretty tight.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great :) Comment: The songs on this album do a great job of combining a catchy beat and lyrics that are just out of this world. A must buy for all the haters out there :)
Customer Rating: Summary: mix 2 parts Eminem + 1 part Linkin Park= Hollywood Undead= unoriginal and redundant Comment: After hearing and really liking "young" and "undead" I thought I would pick up Swan Songs... oops should've done more research. Don't be fooled be these 2 songs it's as close as you'll get to rock and at that they sound like a watered down "hybrid theory" era Linkin Park.
All the other songs are Rap/Hip-Hop which is not my thing, but even if I was the songs are unoriginal, because they sound like Eminem. I guess I should commend them for not stealing too much material; I think they only stole one song, because every song is about "getting the party started", "drinking 40oz (to get the party started)", or sleeping with well girls that have been drinking 40oz at the party.
Bottom line is I couldn't recommend this to anyone and just buy the singles you like, because no matter what genre you like (rock/rap/hip-hop) you're going to be disappointed in the unoriginal, redundant, and uninspired lyrics.
And hey give Slipknot's masks back.
