Summary: How can you go wrong with FF5?
Comment: Great CD. Not quite as good as the first CD, Business up Front Party in the Back, but good in its own right. This band puts together a great rock/punk/techno/retro/dance CD.... whatever.... that's why they call it crunk rock. If you get a chance to see them in concert, they put on a GREAT show! You can't go wrong with Family Force 5.

Summary: "Christian"?! You've GOT TO BE KIDDING!
Comment: How on earth have these people passed themselves off as Christians for two straight albums?! The music is centered around two main themes: "Shake your body" and "Get over here, girl, and dance with me." ...Christian, you say? This band is a disgrace to Christianity and to the God they claim to serve. Life isn't just about girls and parties, yet this is the message that Family Force 5 seems determined to present. If I hadn't been looking at the album when I was listening to it, I could have sworn I was listening to Nsync.

Summary: This is awful! Christian (or not) rock lovers look elsewhere.
Comment: I bought this on a whim after a friend of mine said they had heard some FF5 and really liked it. I'm a big fan of almost all music except country and urban type music so it's really hard for me to not find something to like about this CD. I am a big fan of Skillet, Seventh Day Slumber, Kutless, Pillar, Anberlin as well as Seether, Hinder, Nickelback, Creed, Theory of a Deadman, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, and heavier metal as well, just for reference.

First of all the recording quality is pathetic. Sure, most rock stuff isn't going to image well or sound overly realistic but this sounds like they recorded it in their living room or something. It's certainly not up to Tooth and Nail's usual standard. Second, I just don't get the music or the lyrics at all. The first time I listened to it I kept skipping on to the next song because I didn't care for the one I was listening. The next thing I knew I was repeating the whole disc without listening to any song all the way through. I did listen again to each song and finally told myself that it was a waste of ten bucks.

My daughter just heard them in concert with Reliant K and Toby Mac and told me about them. She kind of liked them and so I gave her my CD (she didn't know I had it and I didn't know she was going to hear them in concert previously). She listened to it and I asked her how she liked it and she told me, and I quote, "oh my gosh that CD is awful! It's like they are stuck in the 80's or something. They were better in concert."

So, there you have it, two reviews in one, from the ears of an old rock fan and a teenager. If you are like me and are always looking for good music that rocks, particularly with a clear Christian message, look elsewhere, or at least listen before you buy. I bought it at a Christian bookstore not Amazon so I did't have that opportunity. Your opinion may vary.

Summary: OMG I canNOT beleive album #1 got a better rating
Comment: How can anyone not atleast like this album? Sure, its not like their first album, but I think its better. However, neither are perfect. Beusiness Up Front was cool and exciting but at the same time annoying because of the repetitive choruses and dumb lyrics, and after a while it kindof lost its greatness. Dance or Die is good because the lyrics are a lot more mature (while not as fun, maybe), not as annoying ('cept Get Ur Back Off the Wall, which makes up for it in coolness) and the songs never get old, but it loses some of the energy of the first. Also, I love all the voice synchronizers with Soul Glow and the gang, (especially the rapping dude, he annoyed me in the first but now I like him).
Overall, I like D or D better. The 80's pop theme is great because 80's pop always made me puke but with modern bass lines, crunchy guitar rythims, and distorted vocals, I just can't get enough of it. I dont know why people complain; tehy did a really good job on it. (Though DIE-4-YOU was pretty dissapointing.)
I only hope w/ their third album, they'll combine the non-annoying, 80's style, roboticly vocal, catchily rythmic, and funky sound of the 2nd while keeping the energetic, laughter-inducing, fun, and screamo rock hard sound of the first. (While adding things both lack like christian messages).

Summary: FF5, with an 80's flare!
Comment: I'm not sure why there is so much hate on this album. It's Family Force 5, but with an 80's theme. The vocals are the same. The hooks are there. It's feel good music. If you want something deep or dark, go listen to Project 86. If you want something inspirational, try Skillet. If you just want to have fun, get this album.
